About Me...
I am currently entering my 14th year of teaching and am very excited to be back at Lenart for my 3rd year. After graduating from college in 2007 with majors in education and mathematics, I spent a semester as a substitute teacher in the south suburbs. I then began work as a high school teacher for 8 1/2 years, first in the south suburbs and then in Chicago. When my oldest entered kindergarten, I took a job as a middle school math teacher in the suburbs to be closer to home and make his transition into school easier. I came back to Chicago three years ago, joining the Lenart Middle School team.
In addition to my degrees in mathematics and secondary education, I also hold an endorsement in middle school education, a masters degree in Curriculum & Instruction, and am currently taking classes to be endorsed in middle school science as well. I enjoy the classroom so much that I just cannot stay out of it, both as a teacher and as a student!
Besides teaching, I enjoy music (I play guitar, piano, and sing), Harry Potter, Marvel comic books and movies, reading when I can find the time, and spending time with my four young children. My oldest son started middle school this year and his younger brother is in 4th grade. My oldest daughter turned 4 in early September and started Pre-School this year, and my youngest is 2. They keep me very busy with their endless sports and activities, but I love it all!
